“These paintings are about seeking moments in the spaces of our land. They are about capturing epiphanous spatial revelations of the prairie landscape. They are my offerings of wonder and an expression of my artistic desire. Our land is flat. Compositional interest is often not very compelling. But the  sky always speaks. Sometimes it is sublime. Other times brilliant. Often it can be moody and there may be moments of drama.
These paintings speak to how the horizon leads our eye to infinite spaces. They are my desire to capture a tranquil mood or a celestial dance.  They are conversational statements from listening to daily and momentary gifts from our Creator. My brush strokes are meant to say that for every moment they capture I am grateful.” ~ Jim Visser
